Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Hickory Trail Hospital in DeSoto, TX is seeking an Intake Counselor/Clinician. The role interviews and assesses potential patients and inquiry callers under the supervision of the Director of Admissions.

You will collaborate with the Business Office on patient financial data, assist with referrals and certification with the UR Department, and may coordinate referral sources. This is an on-site position requiring flexibility in hours.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field required.
• Experience: 2–3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs, including intake/admissions and managed care preferred.
• Licensure: Must be state certified in social work or clinical related mental health field; LPC, LMSW, or LCSW, RN, LFMT license required.
• Additional: CPR certification, CPI and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment; competency exam upon hire; may require flexible hours and overtime.

• Initiates the referral process when indicated and communicates with referral sources.
