Job summary

SCB in Chicago seeks talented architects to join our office, focusing on multi-family residential, adaptive reuse, academic, and aviation projects. You will collaborate with project leaders and consultants, developing design drawings, visualizations, and technical studies, and overseeing BIM modeling across phases.

Licensed or in process with 5–15 years of experience is required; strong design sensibility, communication, and building-codes knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in architecture is required.
• 5-15 years post-graduate, full-time experience in an architectural firm.
• Licensed Architect in the U.S. or actively pursuing licensure.
• Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Solid knowledge of local zoning ordinances and building codes.
• Technical knowledge of building systems, materials, and engineering concepts.
• Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Newforma and Excel; familiarity with Enscape, SketchUp, Rhino, Affinity and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in Multi-family residential, Hospitality, Campus Environments, or Aviation projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement project design philosophy and drive successful execution through design and construction phases.
• Develop design and technical drawings, visualizations, and studies with project leaders.
• Manage time and organize tasks to meet deadlines; oversee junior staff.
• Coordinate with design consultants and project team.
• Participate in meetings and client presentations with multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee BIM modeling; mentor junior staff.
• Research and promote new system applications to improve work product and efficiency.
• Demonstrate initiative and seek guidance from leadership as needed.
• Engage with the project team with a positive, team-first attitude.
