Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a License & Title Associate to manage licensing and titling of new vehicles and equipment across operating companies. You will apply federal and state laws, prepare necessary taxes, and maintain records in the Maximo Fleet System.

The role requires 4 years of fleet or titling experience, an associate degree or high school diploma, and ability to work with internal and external customers. Positions available in multiple Ohio locations with some travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or high school diploma/GED.
• Four years Fleet experience or titling experience in various states.
• Knowledge of state and federal licensing laws.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper taxes are paid at state and local level.
• Report information to the IRS as necessary.

Job Summary

The License & Title Associate is responsible for licensing and titling all new vehicles and equipment at AEP, including: Title changes as required when vehicles become company owned, Title changes when vehicles move from one Operating Company to another Operating Company, and Title changes when lease is refinanced with another Leasing Company. This requires knowledge of Federal Regulations as well as different state laws that govern licenses and titles, including the Apportion plates, Cab cards, IRP plates, and compliance with the Federal 2290 form.

What You’ll Do:

• Review and analyze MCO on each new vehicle to determine the legal entity
• Knowledgeable of the particular state laws in order to license and title all vehicles and equipment
• Knowledgeable of the Federal laws in order to license and title all vehicles and equipment
• Ensure proper taxes are paid at the state and local level
• Information is supplied to the IRS as necessary
• Information is updated in the Maximo Fleet System as necessary
• Accounts payable or Company Credit card is used to purchase and document each license plate and title. Obtain fuel cards, insurance papers, vehicle registrations etc. for new vehicles.

What You’ll Have:

• Associate degree or high school diploma/GED
• Four years Fleet experience or titling experience in various states.

Other Must Haves:

• Minimal travel may be required.
• Must be able to work effectively with internal and external customers to meet the requirements of this position.

Compensation Data Compensation Grade: SP20-004 Compensation Range: $25.99 - $32.49
