Job summary

The Maples in Hammond, LA is seeking a committed Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse for a PRN day-shift role at our new residential treatment center. You will provide nursing care under ANA standards, supervise the clinical program, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to support teens facing mental health challenges.

Qualifications include Louisiana RN licensure or LPN certification, plus BLS and crisis intervention certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have Registered Nurse Licensure in Louisiana (RN or LPN with state licensure).
• Current BLS certification required.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention required.
• LPN certification from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Function as Charge RN for the assigned shift and supervise the clinical program.
• Plan, coordinate and document total patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Report and record patient conditions and care, noting changes promptly.
• Prepare daily progress notes and maintain clinical documentation.

What does the Licensed Nurse do? (including but not limited to)

At the Maples, The Licensed Nurse will focus on helping teenage girls who are struggling with their mental health, including trauma, disordered eating, and/or substance abuse. We are currently searching for compassionate nurses to work at our new residential treatment center facility in Hammond.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Functioning as the Charge RN for their assigned shift, is responsible for providing the nursing care delivery system and supervising the clinical program during assigned shift. Assured that the nursing care provided remains compatible and reflects the ANA standards.
• Participates in the planning, coordinating and documenting total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Accurately reports and records the patient’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
• Prepares clinical/progress notes daily and incorporates into the clinical record weekly, and documents monthly recertifications/Master Treatment Plan Updates in coordination with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Assists the patient with activities of daily living while teaching appropriate self-care techniques.
• Educates and supervises other healthcare personnel in providing continuity of care.
• Initiates and sustains the implementation of all physician orders.
• Completes, maintains and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes.
• Participates in case conferences, in-services, and other programs and meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of Louisiana.
• Certification in Basic Life Support required.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.
• LPN Certification from an Accredited program.

Physical Demands:

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
