Job summary

Aptsinc in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is seeking a Licensed School Counselor to support special needs students by providing individual and group services. The ideal candidate will have a relevant master’s degree and a professional license.

APTS® is searching for an Licensed School Counselor.

Employee’s duties include, but is not limited to:

  • Provide individual and group services to meet the developmental, preventive, and remedial needs of students
  • All planning of counseling activities involving students and staff
  • Occasional communication with parents/guardians of students
  • Review current IEP service goals, recommending modification, and generating IEP annual goals for succeeding years
  • Maintain on-going written records in the form of session and monthly progress notes for available to appropriate APTS staff
  • Use available technology resources to enhance the program
  • Write reports for each assigned student according to APTS format and staff
  • Write quarterly progress reports which include graphs for each student’s progress
  • Maintain a professional presentation and demeanor at all times
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and Certification from an approved Counselor Education program
  • A current Professional License in School Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work or Professional Counseling
