Job summary

City of Oceanside is seeking a part-time Library Technician to support the Oceanside Public Library across Civic Center and branch locations. The role involves assisting patrons, processing interlibrary loans, and aiding in daily operations and training.

The ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced library environment and may work weekends. This position requires 25 hours per week, with Saturday availability required and Sundays a plus.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical or public contact experience in a library is highly desirable.
• Bilingual ability in English/Spanish is desirable.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at circulation desks and provide directions and referrals.
• Support interlibrary loan and technical processing activities.
• Serve as frontline lead when needed and assist in training staff.
• Maintain supplies, prepare reports, and support branch operations.
• Answer phones and enable access to materials via reference assistance.
• Operate the Integrated Library System and related software.
