Job summary

Maricopa County Library District is seeking a Library Supervisor for the North Valley Regional Library to lead staff, plan public programs, and deliver outstanding service to patrons of all ages. The role supports the Branch Manager and collaborates with community organizations to promote library resources.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s in Library Science (ALA-accredited), at least one year of professional library experience, and preferred supervisory exposure.

• Public library experience (valued).

Responsibilities

• Interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned branch staff.
• Plans and conducts programs for the public.
• Provides exceptional customer service by responding to customer queries and concerns, assisting customers with digital devices, and promoting all material types and products.
• Assists with scheduling staff and authorizes leave to ensure an equitable distribution of work and adequate staffing.
• Establishes, evaluates, and revises branch goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Identifies needs and provides recommendations to improve branch operations (space, equipment, staffing, training, etc.).
• Works with the high school as necessary, including maintenance, safety, and security of the branch.
• Acts on behalf of the Large Branch Manager in their absence.
• Liaises with outside organizations and serves on standing/ad-hoc committees.
