Job summary

The City of Pocatello is hiring a Library Services Supervisor to lead daily operations of a Library Division, including Youth Services and Technical Services. You will supervise staff, develop programs, and coordinate with schools and community partners to expand library services.

Strong supervisory, customer service, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build collaborative relationships with officials, staff, and the public.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science is preferred.
• Three (3) or more years of library experience related to the assigned Library Division.
• Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily library division operations and staff.
• Develop and implement programs, processes and procedures for the division.
• Coordinate division programs with other library divisions and staff.
• Hire, train, schedule, evaluate and discipline staff as needed.
• Maintain records, reports and statistics for the division.
• Ensure compliance with library policies and safety practices.
• Oversee Youth Services programs and services.
• Oversee Technical Services functions including cataloging and processing.
