Job summary

Gfoat Library is seeking an experienced Library Manager to direct daily operations, oversee personnel, and promote literacy and cultural programs. The role includes developing collection methods, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with government laws and policies.

The candidate should have a Master’s in Library Science, 5–7 years in library settings, at least 3 years in management, and familiarity with Koha and Aspen software, CPR/First Aid with AED by probation end.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science is required.
• 5–7 years of work experience in Library Sciences.
• Minimum 3 years in Library management.
• Strong working knowledge of metadata standards and best practices.
• Experience with Koha and Aspen software preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid with AED certification by end of 6 month probation.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily library operations and staff; oversee teen/adult programs.
• Develop and promote literacy programs and collection practices.
• Manage budget, procurement, and vendor contracts.
• Evaluate library services and staff performance.
• Prepare reports for staff, City Council and boards.
