Job summary

University of South Carolina Salkehatchie Library is seeking a Library Manager to oversee reference, research, acquisitions, circulation, cataloging, and reader’s advisory services. You will plan programs, supervise staff, and coordinate with the Head Librarian to advance library services and space growth on campus.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years' related experience, with preferred MLS/MLIS and library systems knowledge. This is a full-time position based in Colleton County.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's in library science or information science and a master's degree.
• Knowledge of library organization, research procedures and cataloging rules.

Responsibilities

• Circulation, reference, research, cataloguing, acquisitions, collection development, interlibrary loan, PASCAL, media, library instruction.
• Plan and coordinate engagement activities promoting the library.
• Work with Head Librarian and Associate Dean to set strategic goals for library growth.
• Plan and coordinate instructional activities and workshops for students.
