Job summary

Ilisagvik College seeks a Director of Library Services to lead the academic library and serve as the public library for the North Slope villages. The role provides vision, advocacy and strategic direction for library operations, reporting to the Dean of Academic Affairs.

The incumbent will oversee planning, staffing, budgets, and grant activities, while collaborating with faculty to support student learning and promote library resources across curricula.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated grant and budget management experience.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good community relations.
• Ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee library planning, policy, budget and service delivery.
• Staff supervision, scheduling, training and evaluation of library personnel.
• Represent the College in professional library activities and collaborate with librarians to improve services.
• Analyze library statistics and prepare monthly reports on development and expenditures.
• Prepare grant reports, proposals, budgets and activities.
• Manage collection development, purchasing and deselection of materials.
• Assist patrons with reference and research queries.
• Collaborate with faculty to support student learning and promote library resources.
