Job summary

Ilisagvik College in Utqiaġvik, Alaska seeks an Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to lead on-site operations, support faculty, and advance student success across Instructional Programming, Workforce Development, and Library services.

Reporting to the Dean, this role manages curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, scheduling, and grant projects, while mentoring staff and coordinating with Student Services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or above.
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated teaching experiences at the instructor level or above.
  • Minimum two years of academic administration experience.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dean with day-to-day operations of the Academic Affairs division.
  • Develop and evaluate academic programs ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.
  • Lead curriculum refresh and new initiatives aligned with Alaska workforce needs.
  • Supervise adjunct faculty, onboarding, course management and evaluations.
  • Support assessment of degrees and courses; promote best practices in assessment.
  • Support accreditation activities and data-informed decision making.
  • Assist with course scheduling and academic calendar management.
  • Oversee grants as assigned; act as project director when required.
  • Mentor faculty and staff; ensure compliance with policies.
