Job summary

The Duluth Public Library is seeking a Library Manager to lead its staff across three locations and partner with the Duluth Library Board and foundations. This role requires strong leadership, budgeting expertise, and a commitment to serving a diverse community in Duluth, Minnesota.

The Manager will supervise over 50 staff, coordinate with city departments, and drive strategic planning to meet evolving community needs and library services.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science and 5+ years of library experience, including supervision.
• Ability to lead a large, diverse staff and foster community relationships.
• Experience in long-range planning and community engagement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate library operations at the main and branch libraries.
• Establish short- and long-range goals and objectives within budgetary constraints.
• Develop and monitor division budget.
• Represent the library at professional, governmental, and community events and meetings.
