Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC is seeking a Library Director to lead a single-location library system, aligning with contractual obligations and service standards. You will manage staff, foster a collaborative culture, and maintain crucial relationships with local officials and community partners.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, operational excellence, and a strong customer-service orientation to deliver vibrant community resources.

Qualifications

• Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from an accredited institution.
• Three or more years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Three or more years of progressively responsible library management experience, including oversight of library operations, staff, programs, budgets, and customer service.
• Experience analyzing financial reports, operational metrics, and library data to support decision-making.
• Knowledge of library programming, collection management, budgeting, and financial administration.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall leadership and direction for library operations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, organizational standards, and service expectations.
• Evaluates operations, service delivery, and KPIs to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintains regular communication with the Vice President of Library Operations and reports on performance and customer concerns.
• Leads, coaches, and develops library staff to achieve goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Monitors staffing levels and workforce needs to ensure effective service delivery.
• Conducts performance evaluations and supports employee growth and development.
