Job summary

Cobb County Government's Powder Springs Library and South Cobb Regional Library are hiring part-time circulation assistants. You will process and shelve materials, assist patrons with accounts, use public computers, and promote library programs.

These roles are 18 hours per week, include nights and weekends, and rotate Saturdays. You will handle checkouts, registrations, fines, daily statistics, and help patrons with basic technology.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by six or more months work experience involving public interaction/customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with enjoyment of working with the public.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing high-volume patron interactions.
• Great computer skills and willingness to assist patrons with basic technology needs, including public computer navigation, Microsoft Office, email, downloading, scanning, and printing.

Responsibilities

• Process and shelve materials.
• Assist patrons with accounts and library cards.
• Assist patrons using computers and digital resources.
• Promote library programs and services.
• Take fines for overdue books.
• Record daily statistics.
• Develop knowledge about organization and care of library materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
