Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of experience in a high-volume customer service position preferred.
• One year of experience in safety/security preferred.
• Experience using Integrate Library Systems (ILS) software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service and refers patrons to resources.
• Interprets and applies library policies to address concerns.
• Conducts routine walkthroughs to deter disruptive behavior.
• Monitors activity and uses de-escalation techniques to ensure policy compliance.
• Reports incidents to supervisory staff and emergency responders when needed.
• Documents incidents clearly using standardized reporting procedures.
• Manages safety during incidents and coordinates emergency services as needed.
• Supports a positive public environment and collaborates with staff.
• Handles cash transactions and provides technology assistance to patrons.
• Assists with circulation using the library's ILS and maintains confidentiality.
