Job summary

Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Inc. is seeking a Library Support Specialist to assist the Mark T. Coppenger Library with technical services, supplies, and recordkeeping.

You will help maintain journals, coordinate digital subscriptions, and support campus operations and circulation staff. The role includes processing invoices, updating Excel records, and ensuring policy compliance while collaborating with library staff and campus teams.

Qualifications

• Christian with high integrity and actively pursuing a relationship with God.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferred.
• Previous library experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of library policies and procedures as they pertain to the position.
• Able to learn and utilize new skills to improve job performance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
• Able to use library software for online catalog searches, interlibrary loans, and circulation; training provided.
• Must possess reliable transportation between campus buildings and offsite storage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical services duties like maintaining journal collection and processing acquisitions.
• Coordinate digital journal subscriptions and access with library staff.
• Select and purchase physical books, eBooks, and journals based on professional criteria.
• Maintain the library’s collection development policy and catalog.
• Process invoices and enter transactions in Excel spreadsheets.
• Maintain supplies, mail, and room reservation calendars.
• Assist at the circulation desk when needed and participate in staff meetings.
