Job summary

Bay Mills Community College seeks an Assistant Library Director to oversee general library functions, student placement and record keeping, and purchasing library items. You will collaborate with other departments and support academic excellence and student-centered education.

Under supervision of the Library Director, you will ensure accurate MARC cataloging, maintain circulation and testing spaces, and manage library staffing and schedules while upholding BMCC’s mission and tribal college

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree in librarianship or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general library functions including circulation, staffing, and reporting.
• Administer student placement tests and maintain quiet testing spaces.
• Catalog library materials and create MARC records per Library of Congress standards.
• Track and report library funds and assist BMCC students and patrons.
• Open/close library and monitor floor activities to maintain a quiet environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned byLibrary Director.
