Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools seeks a part-time Teacher Assistant: Library Media (.20 FTE) for Shipley's Choice Elementary in Millersville, MD. Under supervision, you will assist the media specialist with daily operations, check-in/out materials, shelving, and supporting students in library activities.

You will help with bibliographic lists, online databases, and literacy programs, while maintaining a neat, welcoming media center environment and assisting with inventory and reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 48 college credits or passing paraprofessional assessment (ETS/NES) required for Title I-funded schools.
• Experience in a library media center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain media center organization and shelving.
• Assist with researching and locating print and non-print media.
• Support online databases and digital resources usage.
• Supervise volunteers and assist in training them.
• Handle circulation desk and collect overdue notices.
• Prepare bibliographic lists and reports.
• Maintain and update online bibliographic records.
