Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant: Library Media to support the Park Elementary library. The role involves shelving, circulation, assisting students with research, and helping with digital resources and displays.

The candidate will work under the supervision of the principal and media specialist, helping with reading programs and the care of library materials in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Aptitude for reference work and use of core reference materials.
• Basic understanding of the Dewey Decimal System.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Patience, courtesy, tact and good judgment with students and staff.
• Interest in and affinity for direct work with young people.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize media center materials and shelf order.
• Assist with researching and locating print and non-print media for lessons.
• Assist with bibliographic lists and online resource usage.
• Support teachers and students in using online databases and digital resources.
• Supervise volunteers and assist with program logistics.
• Run circulation desk and generate usage statistics.
