What You'll Do:
Lead, mentor and evaluate staff while fostering a culture of growth, innovation and accountability.
Guide inclusive youth programming, optimize bookmobile and homebound services, and align efforts with community needs.
Engage with families, schools and community groups; represent the Library at events; ensure a welcoming, responsive environment.
Oversee youth and family-focused collections to ensure diversity, relevance and accessibility using data-driven practices.
Oversee the work unit which handles shelving, LINK+, and physical collection maintenance to ensure materials are shelved promptly and accurately, and the library's collection remains organized, current, and accessible to users.
May lead tech upgrades and digital initiatives that enhance outreach, access and service delivery.
May oversee customer service functions, circulation and account services, sorting services and facility maintenance and operations.
Manage division budgets and monitor program and service performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
Oversee special projects and coordinate bookmobile and homebound services.
Deliver clear reports and presentations; work cross-divisionally to support youth services and community partnerships.
Work collaborative with other library divisions to ensure high-quality public service.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field from an accredited institution.
Four years of increasingly responsible professional library experience.
Two years supervising professional or paraprofessional staff.
Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain.
Bonus Points
Master's degree in Library Science (ALA-accredited).
Experience managing youth programs, bookmobile services, or library collections.
Proven skills in staff development, budget management, and technology implementation.
