Job description

The Office of Programming and Events is seeking two passionate, imaginative, and creative Librarians to help shape dynamic experiences for our community. Ideal candidates are strong communicators who thrive in both collaborative settings and independent roles. In this full-time position, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, inclusive programming for all ages across our vibrant and diverse library system. We’re looking for professionals who are organized, capable of managing large-scale projects, and dedicated to making a meaningful impact through innovative library programming.

About This Role:

  • Plans and implements engaging and community-oriented programs for all ages (babies, preschool, elementary, teen and adult). Includes coordinating program schedules and working with outside vendors.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, scheduling, and task delegation for department volunteers and interns, ensuring meaningful engagement and effective support of program goals.
  • Providing internal customer service by conducting programs at branches.
  • Participating in workgroups

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science

Preferences:

  • Public library experience
  • Experience creating successful children, teen and adult programs, including story times.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service
  • Experience in providing technology training to patrons
  • Experience in collaboration and team building skills
  • Experience supervising volunteers

Special Requirements:The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt 37.5 hours per week position. The schedule includes weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on the programming schedule. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library.

Starting Salary Range:

$65, 910.00 – 79,408.88 Annually
