Job summary

The Charleston County Public Library is seeking a Logistics Associate / Route and Delivery Driver for the Support Services branch. You will distribute, receive, and transport library materials, supplies, equipment, and furniture to CCPL branches countywide, and assist with routing through the central materials handler.

You will also handle shipping, receiving and mail processing, maintain delivery records, and coordinate with staff to meet schedules while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Minimum of three (3) years related delivery driving experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift and carry library materials up to 100 pounds.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new technology.
• Must work flexible evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Delivers, receives and distributes library materials, supplies, equipment, and furniture to CCPL branches.
• Operates delivery vehicles safely and efficiently while loading, unloading, and transporting materials between locations.
• Maintains vehicles in safe operating condition; ensures proper servicing and fueling.
• Processes and distributes mail to appropriate library locations and departments.
• Maintains accurate records related to deliveries and logistics activities.
• Responds to delivery requests in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
• Coordinates with library staff to schedule deliveries and pickups.
• Performs duties independently while following schedules and safety standards.
• Adapts to changing schedules and operational needs.
