Job summary

San Diego Mesa College invites applications for the Instructional Lab Technician / Learning Resources role in the Library, Learning Resource Center. The technician will provide complex technical and instructional support, assist with library instruction, and manage equipment lending and inventories.

The position requires strong customer service, collaboration with librarians and staff, and the ability to troubleshoot audiovisual and instructional technologies.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in library science or related field or progressively responsible experience in a library/learning resource center.
• Experience providing technical assistance and instruction to students, faculty, or staff.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain instructional equipment and technology and escalate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Under supervisor, provide complex technical and instructional support for the Library and Learning Resource Center.
• Deliver technical assistance and customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Support librarians with instructional activities; maintain and troubleshoot equipment; track inventories and service records.
