Job summary

Rodman Library is seeking a Fiscal Officer to manage financial accounting operations and custodianship of public records. The role coordinates with the Director and ensures compliance with state/local laws, Board policies, and State Auditor directives.

The position oversees payroll, budgeting, and records, working with the Director and Board of Trustees to maintain sound financial stewardship and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Three years of related experience.
• Experience with UAN software preferred.
• Bonding eligibility and acceptable credit check required.
• Clear BCI and FBI background check required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a system of internal accounting controls.
• Implements accounting system changes as necessary.
• Oversees automated accounting and business management system.
• Reviews daily accounting transactions and adjusts financial records.
• Reviews purchase orders and certifies fund availability.
• Prepares and mails checks and ensures invoices are paid against POs with verified documentation.
• Documents procedures for capital projects and grants.
• Oversees property, liability, and fiduciary insurance programs.
• Reviews bids and advises Director/Board on major purchases.
• Collaborates with Director on levy renewals and utility rates.
