Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC seeks a Library Director to lead the Escondido Public Library. The role ensures contract compliance, exceptional customer service, and community impact. You will guide operations, reporting, budgeting, and staff development to meet strategic goals.

Responsibilities include KPI analysis, initiative planning, stakeholder relations, and policy adherence, with on-site leadership and a focus on service excellence.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS or equivalent required.
• Four years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Five years of library management/administration experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing financial reports, demographics, and trends in library settings.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, programming, and financial management.
• Direct patron-facing experience and responsive communication expected.

Responsibilities

• Leads with integrity, promoting LS&S mission and values.
• Oversees Escondido Library operations and contract/operational requirements.
• Evaluates operations and KPIs to identify improvements.
• Leads, coaches, and develops staff to deliver excellent service.
• Manages day-to-day staffing and informs senior leadership.
• Evaluates performance and supports staff development.
• Plans and executes local, regional, and company initiatives.
• Maintains relationships with officials, boards, and stakeholders.
