Job summary

Peoria Public Library is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician I to deliver library materials to five locations and perform routine cleaning and maintenance across all facilities. The role includes opening and closing buildings, setting up meeting rooms, groundskeeping, and transporting recycling; candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of training, experience or education.

Responsibilities

• Maintains interiors of main and branches, including public areas and restrooms.
• Opens/closes buildings; manages heating/cooling and security systems.
• Sets up meeting rooms with tables, chairs and refreshments as needed.
• Vacuums/mops floors, dusts, removes trash and disinfects surfaces.
• Monitors and records electrical and gas usage.
• Performs groundskeeping including snow removal and litter collection.
• Assembles furniture and shelving; cleans Bookmobile.
• Performs book runs and transports recycling material.
