Job summary

Crawfordsville District Public Library is seeking an energetic Facilities Technician to maintain a clean, safe environment for patrons and staff at the main library and museum. The role identifies and reports building and grounds problems, recommends solutions, and implements them, with occasional use of a personal vehicle in the city and surrounding areas.

The schedule is 10 hours per week with some evenings and weekends; emergencies may require outside hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry preferred.
• Strong analytical and computer skills; willingness to use email and basic reporting.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on CDPL-owned buildings and grounds.
• Inspects and reports needs for major repairs to the Assistant Director.
• Maintains building surfaces, temperatures, and safety conditions; coordinates repairs with vendors.
