Job summary

City of Janesville seeks a dedicated custodian to preserve and maintain the appearance of the library building and furnishings. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will join a team responsible for a clean, welcoming environment for staff and the public.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup for events, trash and recycling, and maintaining safety and inventory, with regular hours Tuesday–Saturday and potential for overtime; a high school diploma and 1 year custodial experience

Qualifications

• Graduation with a High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of custodial work experience is required.
• Access to personal or public transportation for job-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and vacuums all library areas including restrooms.
• Sets up and takes down tables, chairs, and podiums for events.
• Manages trash removal and recycling.
• Arms and disarms building security systems.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and reorders.
• Follows safety regulations and reports hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
