The City of Great Falls is seeking a Library Circulation Clerk to staff the Circulation Desk, delivering routine library services to visitors with accuracy and courtesy.
You will process check-ins and check-outs, create and update accounts, handle fines and donations, manage holds, and assist with programs while enforcing library rules.
This position also restocks shelves, processes mail, and helps maintain organized public spaces; a friendly, professional demeanor is essential.
This position staffs and provides support at the Circulation Desk, delivering a range of routine, transactional library services to library visitors. Work is carried out within established library procedures and requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a courteous, professional manner in all library visitor and staff interactions. The position reports directly to the Public Services Librarian.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, pinch, grasp, reach, pull and perform similar body movements. Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate a computer, typewriter, microfilm reader, printer and copier; the ability to talk and hear in person or by telephone; and the ability to see and read materials.
This job description applies to both full-time and part-time positions. Full-time roles typically work 40 hours per week, while part-time roles work 29 hours per week. Work schedules follow a five-day workweek with hours assigned between Sunday and Saturday. This position is a nonexempt position and is eligible for overtime, with pre-approval by the Public Services Librarian or other supervisory staff.
Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site training and educational opportunities.
