Job summary

Yancey County Library seeks an energetic assistant to support patrons at the main library or branches, handling circulation, locating materials, and helping use resources. Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the circulation desk and help locate library materials and use of library resources.
• Check books or media in and out, issue library cards, collect fines, and prepare items for carts.
• Prepare library displays and answer some reference questions; assist patrons with library equipment (public computers and printers).
• Work involves significant public contact and requires tact and courtesy; performance evaluated through daily observations.
