Job summary

Trimble County Public Library is seeking a Circulation Manager to oversee daily circulation operations, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. The role supports electronic resources, technology, and relevant policies while promoting library programs and services.

You will train and evaluate staff, manage scheduling, assist with collection processing and basic cataloging, and collaborate with other departments to provide a welcoming community hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or related field.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Experience training personnel.
• Experience with library technology, electronic resources, collection development, circulation, or public library operations.
• Strong knowledge of the local community.
• Must obtain and maintain KDLA certification within required timeframe and complete continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily circulation desk operations, staffing, scheduling, and coverage.
• Train and supervise circulation staff; hiring and onboarding.
• Provide professional, welcoming customer service and assist patrons with circulation services and technology.
• Assist with collection development, processing, cataloging, and related projects.
• Support library programs, events, room and technology preparation, and attendance tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow policies and procedures.
