Job summary

Grays Harbor College is seeking a library aide to act as the first point of contact at the circulation desk. You will assist students, community patrons, and staff with check-in/check-out, shelving, and clerical tasks, while supporting gallery-related activities.

The role emphasizes customer service, data entry, and organizational duties, with opportunities to contribute to library and gallery projects. Applicants must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet FA SAP eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel emphasized).
• Excellent interpersonal skills for student and patron interactions.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Reliable and punctual; capable of lifting moderate weight and prolonged sitting/standing.

Responsibilities

• Check-in/check-out/shelve library materials (Circulation).
• Provide customer service at the Circulation Desk.
• Answer phones, take messages, relay calls.
• Stock and tidy library spaces and supplies tables.
• Process newly acquired materials.
• Assist with gallery project support (installation, teardown, receptions).
