Job summary

The City of Leander Library is seeking a Library Assistant to help customers locate materials, answer routine questions, and support operations and programs for children and youth. You will staff the children's desk and promote library services in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Under supervision, you will assist with planning and delivering programs, manage supplies, track attendance, and collaborate with staff to keep services running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Library coursework or library-related college credits preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends, including Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to library patrons of all ages.
• Staff the children's desk and assist with routine transactions.
• Share accurate information about policies, services, and programs.
• Promote library programs and events to customers.
• Assist with planning and delivering children’s and youth programs.
