Job summary

Anoka County Library in St. Francis, MN is seeking part-time Library Assistants to help patrons obtain library cards, use technology, and access materials.

You will create a welcoming environment and support routines across circulation, shelving, and reference tasks. This on-site role offers a flexible schedule including Saturdays and weekdays, growth opportunities, a generous PTO/holiday plan, and a pension program through Anoka County.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma.
• 1 year customer service or library experience is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for all by providing excellent customer service.
• Perform circulation duties including checkout, returns, assessing damages, running reports and routing materials.
• Assist library patrons with requests and help with technology and basic research needs.
• Organize, maintain and ensure collection tidiness.
• Process materials, link electronic records and ensure efficient movement of materials across the county.
• Assist patrons in locating pertinent materials and refer to librarians when needed.
