Mecklenburg County Library in Pineville is seeking a Library Assistant to deliver high-quality services to our diverse community. This full-time position supports circulation, reference, and program outreach using Polaris, with a schedule including some nights and weekends.

This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Pay rates arebased on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internalequity considerations include an assessment of the applicant’s salary historyand qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirements for thejob.

Tuesdays: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Fridays & Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., alternating weekly
Schedule Flexibility: Flexibility to work an additional weeknight, as needed, to meet staffing and business needs.
Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
Works in an office setting with moderate noise
Will work in a setting with childrenand teens from neighboring schools and program attendees
Schedules will include some nights and weekends
