Connetquot Public Library Inc. in New York seeks a Library Assistant for the Children and Family Services Department. This role supports engaging programs, connects families with library resources, and helps create a welcoming environment for children and caregivers.

A bachelor’s degree is required; a Master of Library Science and a New York State Public Librarian Certificate are not required. Schedule includes days, afternoons, Friday evenings 5–9 pm and a monthly Saturday/Sunday rotation.

About the Position

Connetquot Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, service-oriented Library Assistant to join our Children and Family Services Department. This position offers an opportunity to support engaging programs, connect families with library resources, and help create a welcoming environment for children and caregivers.

A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree in Library Science and a New York State Public Librarian Certificate are not required.

Schedule and Compensation

• Required shifts:Days, Afternoons, Friday evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a monthly Saturday/Sunday rotation.

• Compensation: $26 per hour.
