New Mexico Highlands University Libraries seek a Library Aide to support daily operations and patron service on the Las Vegas, NM campus. You will assist staff, perform data entry, and help with routine library duties, including shelving and answering basic questions at the Information Desk.
Education requires NMHU student enrollment with 6+ credits; a high school diploma or GED is also acceptable. This on-campus position runs during the summer term with a short end date.

The New Mexico Highlands University Libraries support teaching, research, and community activities of New Mexico Highlands University. It acquires, preserves, and makes accessible scholarly materials that advance the curricular needs, intellectual pursuits, and personal enrichment of our University and community members. It promotes programs and services that emphasize the diversity of the university’s multicultural community and heritage.
The incumbent in this position will assist staff with daily, routine library operations. Duties may include library searches, general office work, data entry, and assisting patrons. Job description may be me including routine duties with no prior experience needed to be able to perform. May involve a modest degree of responsibility and judgment. Routine data entry; Answering phones; Making copies; Greeting customers; Taking messages; Managing confidential information; Maintain regular attendance; and, Perform other job duties as assigned.
Checking out, checking in, and renew library materials; provide research assistance; retrieve and shelve books; answer basic library questions at the Information Desk; back shifting books; and perform other duties as assigned.
Education: College student at NMHU enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours. High school diploma or GED . Experience: None
Frequently: Standing, Walking, Bending, Squatting, Kneeling, Repetitive hand motion, Prolonged use of computer. Occasionally: Lifting a minimum of thirty (30) pounds, Climbing.
