Job summary

The City of Newport Beach Library Services Department seeks a Librarian II to join the Central Library, focusing on reference services, collection development, programming, and outreach.

The selected candidate will often serve as person in charge during nights and weekends when the Administrative Team is not in the building, and will support both Children’s and Adult services teams in a public library setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of increasingly responsible professional library experience.
• Possession of a Master's degree in Library Service from an American Library Association accredited college or university.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference services, assist patrons and answer inquiries.
• Support collection development and participate in programming and outreach activities.
• Serve as person in charge during nights and weekends when Administrative Team is not in the building.
