Job summary

Pima County Public Library is seeking a Librarian I for the Joel D. Valdez Main Library to join its Circulations Services team. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding customer service and maintain a welcoming library environment.

Required are strong knowledge of circulation services, Sierra ILS, and systemwide procedures, plus experience supervising staff. The candidate must be organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of library-related experience.
• Experience in customer service and public libraries.
• Ability to travel between library locations during the workday.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned service area within a library by developing, presenting, and coordinating services inclusive of all members of the public.
• Supervise library employees, volunteers, and interns by training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
• Assist patrons by locating and relaying library resources, and providing help with catalogs, technology, and equipment.
• Develop and present educational programs and outreach, including early literacy programs and computer instruction.
• Participate in systemwide committees and relevant continuing education trainings to apply best practices.
• Manage workload priorities, resources, timelines, and reporting.
