Job summary

Pima County Public Library is seeking a Librarian I to provide direct customer service, help community members access library resources, and lead engaging programs for adults. The Librarian I may serve as the librarian in charge of the building at times and may travel between locations within reasonable time.

Spanish-speaking skills are strongly desired, and the role may require working rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends, to support library operations and community programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Library Science, Liberal Arts, Social Science, Information Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Three years of experience in libraries, customer service, education, social services or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Oversees service area and develops, presents, and coordinates services for the public.
• Serves as supervisor in charge of the library as assigned.
• Assists patrons with using the library’s collections, catalog, technology and equipment.
