Moraine Valley Community College seeks a Tutor Student Employee for the Liberal Arts Speaking & Writing Center. This on-campus role assists students with academic writing and speaking, providing individualized help in a fast-paced tutoring setting.

The position runs Spring and Fall semesters, Monday through Thursday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. Candidates must maintain confidentiality, demonstrate strong communication, and use computer tools to help students succeed.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in current academic program and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement.
• Strong written and verbal communication with excellent grammar.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic tech tools.
• Ability to support students through individualized academic assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic assistance to students.
• Explain complex concepts in clear, simple terms to students.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement.
• Support Liberal Arts students in speaking and writing center sessions.
• Collaborate with supervisor and team to assist students.
