Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Liabilities Claims Examiner for its East Coast operations, focusing on general liability, premise liability, and litigated claims. This role requires analyzing complex claims, negotiating settlements, and coordinating litigation management with a broad client base.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 5 years of claims experience, and licensing appropriate to the state. Remote-friendly with a hybrid schedule, travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Licensing: Home State preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex or technically difficult general liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure and manage claims to timely resolution.
• Assesses liability and resolves claims within evaluation.
• Negotiates settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Calculates and assigns reserves to claims and manages reserve adequacy.
• Prepares necessary state filings within statutory limits.
• Manages the litigation process and coordinates vendor referrals for investigation or litigation management.
• Uses cost containment techniques including vendor partnerships to reduce costs for clients.
• Manages claim recoveries including subrogation and offsets.
• Reports claims to the excess carrier and communicates with claimants and clients.
