Qualifications

• Bachelor's in social work, public health, gender studies, or related field.
• 2+ years working with LGBTQ+ populations, healthcare, or aging services.
• Deep cultural competency around LGBTQ+ history, identities, and senior-specific challenges.
• Strong group facilitation and community organizing skills.

Responsibilities

• Build trust with LGBTQ+ senior communities across LA through outreach at LGBT Centers, Pride events, and community gatherings.
• Develop LGBTQ+-affirming care pathways within ASF and partner organizations.
• Train all ASF staff on LGBTQ+ cultural competency, pronoun use, and chosen-family considerations.
• Coordinate intake and benefits navigation for LGBTQ+ seniors with attention to chosen family and partner rights.
• Partner with LA LGBT Center, GenderJustLA, and other organizations on referrals and joint programming.
• Lead support groups specifically for LGBTQ+ older adults dealing with isolation, caregiving, or loss.

Role Overview

As LGBTQ+ Senior Outreach Coordinator, you will build trust with LGBTQ+ older adults — a historically underserved community in senior care. You will develop affirming programs, train staff on LGBTQ+ cultural competency, and connect LGBTQ+ seniors to free care that respects their identities.
