Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington's LGBTQ+ Culture Center seeks a Part Time Student Assistant to support daily office operations, greet visitors, manage communications, and help with programming in a welcoming, affirming space.

The role offers 10–12 hours weekly, in-person, at $14.50 per hour, with flexible scheduling and opportunities to gain work-study experience while serving LGBTQ+ Hoosiers and allies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University Bloomington.
• Experience in customer service, peer support, or office assistance preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with campus offices supporting student well-being.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors at reception, answer phones, respond to emails, and provide referrals.
• Perform routine clerical duties and general office support.
• Assist with library tasks: check materials in/out, reshelve, help patrons.
• Help manage Center's social media accounts and distribute weekly QNews newsletter.
• Assist with planning, promoting, and evaluating programs and events.
• Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and collaborate with supervisors.
