Job Description

LEVERETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Is accepting applications for the following position for the 2026-2027 school year:

INTERIM SCHOOL ADJUSTMENT COUNSELOR

Certification required

0.5 FTE

  • Support staff in implementing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum and lead school-wide initiatives in collaboration with the school psychologist under the direction of principal
  • Provide tiered SEL support to all students
  • Assist with student SEL data collection, and development and delivery of interventions
  • Participate in Team meetings and provide crisis or de-escalation support to students.
  • Support student transitions and accommodations to be successful in the school setting.
  • Consult, collaborate and support staff and parents regarding community resources.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and external resources and make referrals as needed.
  • Coordinate parent programs and supports within the school setting.
  • Assist students and caregivers with regular attendance and engagement with the school.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by principal

    LES is a small school with an enrollment of approximately 135 students with one class per grade, ranging from PreK to grade 6.     You will be joining a team of professionals made up of classroom teachers, two intervention teachers, three Special Education Teachers, a full time school psychologist and SLP,, and part time OT and PT in addition to paraprofessionals and specials teachers.

    About the Position

    This position is being filled due to a current vacancy and is an interim position for the remainder of the school year. The individual selected for the interim position is welcome to apply for the permanent position when it is posted.

    Salary is based on experience and educational qualifications, according to the LEA/LSC salary schedules. The salary will be prorated to reflect the 0.5 FTE position and the portion of the school year remaining. This position is eligible for benefits.
