Job summary

CIBC is seeking a strong Analyst to support the US Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management team in New York. The role focuses on executing sponsor-backed leveraged finance transactions, building detailed financial models, and conducting rigorous due diligence to support decisions.

You will work with senior professionals across Global Leveraged Finance and other groups, coordinating market data, lender relationships, and quarterly portfolio reviews while embracing a high-performance, collaborative

Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in leveraged finance, ratings agency or investment banking or portfolio management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly.
Strong understanding of credit analysis, accounting principles and ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.

Responsibilities

Assist in the execution of leveraged finance transactions including LBOs, Recapitalizations and Refinancings for new and existing clients.
Prepare pre-screen memos and credit approval packages with strengths, risks and mitigants.
Build cash flow models and LBO models with justifiable assumptions and downside cases.
Conduct detailed due diligence with senior professionals and data rooms.
Onboard new clients to the CIBC platforms and monitor portfolios with reviews.
