Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living is seeking a Level I Medication Assistant to support medication administration for residents under physician and nurse supervision. This on-site role requires licensing and a state-approved training program, along with strong communication skills to collaborate with residents and staff.

The position emphasizes accuracy in documentation, adherence to facility procedures, and proactive participation in safety initiatives to reduce medication errors and improve resident

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Licensed Level I Medication Assistant with state-approved training and exam(s).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the facility's policies for administering medications to residents.
  • Note and report errors in medication administration.
  • Assist in developing procedures to prevent medication errors.
  • Complete forms, charts, and reports as required.
  • Ensure documentation of drug receipt errors includes a signed report.
  • Accurately measure, record, and report residents' vital signs.
  • Notify Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of any reactions.
  • Follow medication card practices and chart orders accurately.
  • Document order details in the resident's clinical record.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WESTPHALIA, MO

As a Level I Medication Assistant, your job position is to assist in the administering of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing Services.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents.
  • Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs of the facility that seek to determine what medication errors are taking place, when, where, and why they occur, and how they can be prevented.
  • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit these as may be required.
  • Ensure that documentation of the drug receipt error includes a written error report, signed by an observer/witness and you.
  • Accurately measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents.
  • Promptly notify the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of any errors or reactions to medications by residents.
  • Follow the medication card practices of the facility.
  • Follow the facility procedure for recording the order in the resident’s clinical record, including the type, route, dosage, frequency and strength of each medication.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed Level I Medication Assistant having successfully completed a state-approved training program and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
