Job summary

TradeSTAR, Inc. in Celina, TX is seeking a Level II Structured Cabling Technician to support commercial installations. You will install, route, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber, and build clean MDF/IDF rooms and telecom closets.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience.
• Strong hands-on experience pulling, routing, dressing, and supporting cable.
• Experience terminating Cat5e and Cat6 cabling.
• Familiarity with racks, patch panels, J-hooks, and cable pathways.
• Ability to read basic prints, drawings, and cable schedules.
• Fiber-optic experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with cable testing equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, dress, and support Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber cabling.
• Terminate copper cabling on jacks and patch panels.
• Assist with fiber optic installation and termination.

• Install cable supports, racks, pathways, and related infrastructure.

• Identify and troubleshoot cabling issues; ensure quality workmanship.

What You ll Be Doing

• Installing, routing, dressing, and supporting Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling
• Terminating copper cabling on jacks, patch panels, and other connectivity hardware
• Assisting with fiber-optic installation and termination
• Building clean, organized MDF/IDF rooms and telecom closets
• Installing J-hooks, cable supports, racks, pathways, and related infrastructure
• Reading blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and project documentation
• Labeling and testing installed cabling
• Identifying and troubleshooting cabling and connectivity issues
• Producing clean, professional installations that meet project and industry standards
• Working alongside Lead Technicians and project leadership to keep work moving
• Following jobsite safety requirements and maintaining quality workmanship

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You don t need someone explaining what a J-hook is. You ve spent time on commercial jobsites, understand how a structured cabling project comes together, and are ready to contribute from day one. We re looking for:

• 2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience
