Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is hiring dedicated Level II technicians in Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), and PMI. The role requires travel to various sites and assignments on projects and turnarounds.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements for MT/PT/UT.
  • Prior Level II certification with one year of experience, or Level I with adequate field hours to qualify for Level II.

Position Summary:-

MISTRAS is hiring dedicated Level II technicians in Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), and Positive Material Identification (PMI). The position requires technicians who are willing to travel and work on projects and turnarounds as needed.

The Level II NDT Technician will be responsible for setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting NDT tests, interpreting and evaluating results, and documenting inspection findings. The technician will also be capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel within the certified method.

Responsibilities:-
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment.
  • Conduct tests using the appropriate NDT techniques.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results.
  • Demonstrate thorough familiarity with the scope and limitations of the certified NDT method.
  • Direct the work of trainees and Level I personnel as required.
  • Maintain familiarity with codes, standards, and contractual documents governing the applicable NDT method.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Obtain and analyze relevant information.
  • Edit and present numerical data effectively.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment, competing demands, delays, and unexpected circumstances.
  • Follow management direction and seek feedback to improve performance.
  • Monitor work to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Actively promote safety procedures and properly use equipment and materials.
Qualifications:-
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC-1A requirements for MT, PT, or UTT.
  • Prior certification as an NDE Level II with one year of experience, or prior certification as an NDE Level I technician with adequate field experience hours to qualify for Level II certification under SNT-TC-1A.
  • Applicants must be able to provide:

  • Proof of NDT classroom hours or training.
  • Previous Level II certifications and OJT documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Clear and persuasive oral communication skills.
  • Ability to edit and present numerical data effectively.

  • Planning and organizational skills.

Requirements:-
  • Willingness to travel and work on projects and turnarounds as needed.
  • Ability to work in outdoor plant environments.
  • Ability to work around production machinery and extreme noise levels.
  • Ability to work at more than one jobsite in a day.
  • Ability to tolerate varying climate conditions.
  • Ability to travel out of town periodically.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department.
  • Ability to maintain the physical fitness necessary to perform the position's duties.
